Anteneh Addisu, M.B.B.S. (M.D.), Ph.D. Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Addisu obtained Medical Degree at Addis Ababa University. Interests include Translational medicine and interdisciplinary research, and medical education

 

 

 

 

Cheri Adgerson, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Dermatology.  Dr. Adgerson obtained her Medical Degree obtained at Penn State University. Her specialty is Dermatology in skin of color, disorders of hair, skin cancer, and cosmetic dermatology.

 

Tracey Barnett , Ph.D. Associate Professor, Department of Epidemiology. Dr. Barnett Obtained her Ph.D. degree from Western Michigan University.  Her current research interests include tobacco prevention, particularly in adolescent and young adult populations.

 

Brian Boyce, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Otolaryngology. Dr. Boyce obtained his  Medical Degree at the Medical College of Georgia. He specializes in Otolaryngology, Division of Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery.

 

 

 

 

 

Foiqa Chaudhry, M.B.B.S. (M.D.) Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology. Dr. Chaudhry obtained her Medical Degree at the University of Health Sciences, Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore. Her academic interests include diabetes and bone metabolism.

 

Jessica Cioffi, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery. Dr. Cioffi obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Cioffi specializes in pancreatic, biliary and liver surgery. Her clinical interests include general surgery, acute and chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, bile duct cancer, gallbladder cancer, liver metastases, cholangiocarcinoma and bile duct injuries or strictures.

 

 

 

 

 

Michael Cometa, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Cometa obtained his Medical Degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California. Dr. Cometa will serve as a member of the clinical faculty with an emphasis on adult multispecialty anesthesiology and non-operating room anesthesia.

 

 

Richard D’Alli, M.D. Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry.He is board certified in both child and adolescent psychiatry and in general adult psychiatry. Dr. D’Alli is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He completed residency training in general psychiatry and fellowship training in child psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. D’Alli will be playing an active role in the clinical, educational, and scholarly missions of the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics, including program development in autism and developmental-behavioral pediatrics services.

Silvia Delgado Villalta, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Pulmonary Division. Dr. Villalta obtained her medical degree at Universidad Jose Matias Delgado Escuela de Medicina, El Salvador. Her job duties and specialty include Patient care, teaching, Director, Cystic Fibrosis Newborn Screening for UF, Director, Cystic Fibrosis Center.

 

 

 

 

Karyn Esser, Ph.D. Professor, Department of Physiology. Dr. Esser obtained her  Ph.D. degree in Kinesiology at The University of Michigan. Her lab has pioneered research on the role of circadian rhythms and the molecular clock mechanism in skeletal muscle homeostasis and health. (Assistant Program Director, Institute of Myology).

 

 

 

 

Robert Fieo, Ph.D. Research Assistant Professor, Department of Aging and Geriatrics. Dr. Fieo obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Edinburgh, Psychology Centre for Cognitive Epidemiology. Dr. Fieo is interested in, within the context of cognitive reserve, how leisure activities buffer older adults from cognitive decline. Specific areas of investigation include quantifying engagement, for instance, the impact of passive versus active activities (sustained effort), as well as the role of novelty.

 

 

 

Chancellor Gray, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. Dr. Gray obtained his Medical Degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He specializes in Adult arthroplasty and joint reconstruction.

 

 

 

 

Claire Haycox, M.D. Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Dermatology. Dr. Haycox obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and obtained Ph.D. Degree in Bioengineering from the University of Washington.

 

Christine Larkins, Ph.D. Research Assistant Professor, Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. Dr. Larkins obtained her Ph.D. degree in Developmental Biology at Emory University. She will continue her work in the lab studying external genitalia development and sexual differentiation.

 

 

 

Tanja Laschober, Ph.D. Assistant ScientistDepartment of Health Outcomes and Policy. Dr. Laschober obtained her Ph.D., University of Missouri – Columbia, Human Development and Family Studies, Minor: Gerontology. Dr. Laschober is working on the Texas Medicaid Evaluation Project, which evaluates quality and outcomes of care for Medicaid and CHIP recipients.

 

 

 

 

Amy Loyd, D.O. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Dermatology. Dr. Loyd obtained her D.O. at Midwestern University in Illinois.

 

 

 

 

 

Carol Mathews, M.D. Professor, Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Mathews obtained her Medical Degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Mathew’s research is focused on how genes, environment, and culture interact to influence the development and expression of neuropsychiatric symptoms/syndromes, including anxiety, resilience, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), compulsive hoarding, tic disorders, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

 

 

 

 

 

Matthew Merritt, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry. Dr. Merritt obtained his  PhD in Physical Chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Hi specialty includes measuring metabolic flux in living systems using magnetic resonance and stable isotope methods.

 

 

 

 

 

Maribeth Porter, M.D. Assistant Professor, Department of Community Health and Family Medicine. Dr. Porter obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Her interests include global and under-served health, quality improvement and health services research, and residency education.

 

 

Cesare Saltini, M.B.B.S. (M.D.) Research Professor, Department of Medicine, Pulmonary Division. Dr. Saltini was trained at the University of Modena in Italy. His research specialized in the biology of iron metabolism and pulmonary fibrosis.

 

 

 

 

 

Raymond Sessions, M.D. Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Sessions obtained his Medical Degree at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Sessions will serve as a member of the clinical faculty with an emphasis on neuro-anesthesiology and adult multispecialty anesthesia. Dr. Sessions also has an administrative role as Assistant Chair of Finance.

 

 

 

Alexandria Stern, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics. Dr. Stern obtained her Medical Degree at St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine, Cayman Islands. He new duties include Patient care and teaching, specializing in General pediatrics, immunizations, well-child visits and sick visits.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Juan Vilaro, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology. Dr. Vilaro obtained his Medical Degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He specializes in heart failure.

 

 

Stephen Vose, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Vose obtained his Medical Degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Vose will serve as a member of the clinical faculty with an emphasis on acute pain medicine. He will also provide anesthesia in the operating rooms and other locations.
